The Highroller celebrates mountain biking in Fernie with one big ride and party

Start Time: 9:00 a.m.

Start Check-in and Waiver Signing: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the Royal

After party time: 5:00 p.m.

Where: Start, finish and after party at the Royal/Infinitea. Mexican themed dinner provided by Infinitea. Bring your sombrero and beer mug; best mug and sombrero gets to drink free until the FBC keg is gone.

Cost: $45 until September 22, $50 after * (includes a fun day of riding sweet Fernie single track, coveted 2014 Highroller T-shirt, after party dinner, one free FBC beer, prizes!) * You must be a FMBC member!

Sign up early please! Only those who sign up before September 17th will be guaranteed a t-shirt on the day of the event (others will have to wait for the second order).

This is the route:
– Start at the Royal – Old Stumpy behind the Acquatic Centre – Coal Heritage trail just to that little downhill – cross Coal Creek Road to the barn
– Uprooted – up new Roots – Hyperventilation – Hyper Extension – Roots Extension
– Coal Creek Rd. to barn – trail to under train bridge – continue on that trail by crossing Park Ave. along the Elk River to under highway bridge by the Bridge Restaurant – Burma Road
– Fat Bastard – Mushroomhead – Lactic – Mocasassin – Stupid Traverse – Slunt – Brokeback
– Island Lake Rd. – cross Gorby Bridge
– Gorby – Old Goat – Happy Gilmar (take the first entrance to Happy Gilmar to the Left, just after the Old Goat/Happy Gilmar junction) – Sherwoody all the way back to Gorby (DO NOT take the Bridgeview Connector)
– Gorby Bridge again – Island Lake Rd.
– Stove – Mushroomhead (be cautious of and YEILD to uphill riders on the downhill portion of Mushroomhead – those who don’t will be disqualified from receiving draw prizes) – Red Sonja all the way to the car
– Right down Burma Rd. – ride the highway Bridge back to the Bridge Restaurant, go under the highway Bridge again along the Elk River – up 5th Street – left on 1st Ave – back to the Royal
– Check-in at the Royal

That works out to 35.4 kms and just a little more than 1600 meters of climbing.

Do all the rides or just the ones you want to collect a poker hand. If you do all the rides and check in at the Royal, you will have a BONUS card.

The Stations where you will collect stamps will be in the following locations: 1) Bottom of Roots Extension 2) Powerline at top of Fat Bastard 3) Power line on Brokeback 4) the start of Happy Gilmar 5) Pete’s Bench on Mushroomhead (if you get this one on the way to Slunt, you are a cheater – don’t be a cheater) and 6) the Royal

Your poker hand will be used to get rad prizes, the top three poker hands get first pick of draw prizes!
