About The Quest
The Quest Outdoor Sport Rentals is a small, locally owned ski and snowboard rental shop owned by Fernie local Troy McLachlin. Started in 1999 on the highway and moved to the ski hill in 2001 before relocating to its current location in Snow Creek Lodge in 2011.
What started as rentals has morphed into a retail shop focusing on customer service that goes above and beyond. We sell skis and have demos of every ski in every length. We encourage the “try before you buy” model. Our location has direct access to the ski hill, making it easy to try as many skis and ski boots as you want. Our success comes from our customers’ loyalty. They return year after year because of the service we’ve provided and the equipment we’ve put them on.
“I couldn’t do it without the great staff I’ve had the privilege to work with. Truthfully, I didn’t expect to still be doing this after 26+ years, but the friends, customers and relationships I’ve gained make us keep going. Skiing is our passion, and we want to share that joy with our customers!”
