Does anyone know of any VOIP providers who can supply a local Fernie number with their service? The closest BC/250 numbers I’ve been able to find are in the Kelowna area through IGONET and Vonage.

What’s a VOIP and an IGONET?

VOIP = Voice Over Internet Protocol – telephone service over your broadband internet connection.
IGONET is a VOIP service provider – like an internet service provider but different.
Eventually, Shaw is supposed to be providing VOIP service (Digital Phone) but they’re not offering it here yet. One of the big advantages to VOIP service is that they usually include unlimited long distance anywhere in Canada or the U.S. plus all of the extra features (call ID, call waiting, voicemail, etc) for far less then the regular phone company.
