Riverside to Fernie

Hi,
Three of us Brits are here for the season, do people try often to hitch to the Resort from Riverside? I know there is a hitching spot in Fernie by the bridge and apparently its difficult to hitch from Riverside because the passing cars have already got the hitchers. Is the shuttle bus the only way?

Hikers often hitch from Riverside to towna and to the hill however the traffic is moving quickly.

I recommend buying an old vehicle for the season.

even when i’m empty sometimes i find it’s not safe to stop. live in town, it’s not worth the hassle. not convenient to party in town or get to the hill with out wheels.

Speaking of the shuttle bus…when does that start running? How does it work?
