I’m very excited to present the Griz Days Whiteout SnowBall this year at The Fernie Community Center. I have been wanting to throw an event for the community for Griz Days for some time, and I’m happy that it has all come together this year. I have gathered a line up of music for all music tastes, for all ages, something that will make you dance whether you’re 19 or 75.
Thanks to Jim Paul, of Blackrock Audio Visual, the sound will be spectacular and the stage set up visually stunning. Jim has been an advocate of Fernie’s music scene for a long time, and without him Fernie would not be "the coolest town in North America."
I’ve titled this party the "First Annual" because I would love for this to continue for years to come and continue to get bigger and better. I’m calling on the support of the entire community for this to happen. I personally guarantee that you will have a great time.
Featuring a stellar line-up of DJs (including Vinyl Ritchie of Vancouver and The Fernie Yacht Club) and Bands (including Micheal Bernard Fitzgerald and his newest musical venture Soap Star* and local band Cam Labelle and the Soul Rockets).
This is a semi formal event with an All White theme, so come dressed in your best white attire.
Licenced, 19+ event. Music starts at 8pm. Tickets will be available Friday February 27th at Freya, Boardstiff and Commit, as well as several locations around town. $25.
Thanks, I look forward to seeing you there!

Check out the links below for a sample of the music that’ll be played at the SnowBall this year:
MUSICAL TALENT:SOAP STAR:
MBF will be singing and playing bass and bringing a drummer and DJ Heebs. LIVE DRUM AND BASS. "Together these three gentlemen combine turntables and instruments, mash-ups and live vocals."http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?s … g4&u=-Nk1w
DJ VINYL RITCHIE:
One of my favorite sets at Shambhala ever was by Vinyl Ritchie in ’05. He played right after BC/DC – not an easy task – and he killed it. He plays everything from 50s remixes and 80s mash ups to heavy metal and hard rock. He’s one of the few DJs in the world who can mix on 45s!http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?s … BU&u=iRS_J
Local Band Pocket Rocket (Cam Labelle and the Soul Rockets) will be performing at 8:30pm so get there early!
Supported by the infamous Fernie Yacht Club. These guys know how to make you dance.
Everyone needs to come to thank the Griz for the awesome pow… and don’t forget to wear something white – anything at all. Wear a toga if you don’t have anything… this is going to be fun!!!

I think that by making this a semi-formal ‘all-white’ event, you have lost some patrons, myself included. I have also talked with some people and they said the same thing. I would have went in a heartbeat but not with a dresscode.
