The City of Fernie allowed businesses to construct sidewalk patios in parking spots fronting their establishments.
Please participate in this very brief online survey:

Public support for the sidewalk patio’s is overwhelming!
May the program proliferate the downtown and hopefully lead to a pedestrian and bike only Victoria Avenue in the near future.
Not surprisingly the negative comments appear to mirror the percentage of those who didn’t subscribe to the experience…a cold beverage and good food on a patio!
See the results below:

Hopefully those ideas will not result to any future crowd or traffic or perhaps a distractions to some by-passers. And the allotted space of the patio building should not block any possible walkway. Also good idea if they uses patio awnings, PVC umbrella or a sun sail as their roof just like the samples from http://coastwideshadesails.com.au/shade-sails-products/waterproof-shade-sails/, as this is not so hard to install and no more digging up for concreting patio post.

Count me in for that, tried also installing patio directly from my house lobby with the french glass doors installed as entrance from the inside of the house. However, there was no survey made by any authority because we own the property.
Regards.
