      Hey
Does anyone have dogs with Allergies…
I have a almost 2 year old boston terrier and he has such bad allergies… we have taken him to the vet so many times the vet bascially told us there isn’t much else he can do and not to bring him back unless its really really bad because he has had to take so much medicine it will shorten his life. We have him on Med cal Skin support right now and it is so far the best we have found for him altough he still get rashes and excema really bad.. he is always itching all night long. We tried him on a salmon food and that was the worst for him.. raw food diet and also the raw dehydrated diet… nothing helps him.. i have purchased multiple creams such as the K9 Clear up which is supposed to help 17 different allergies but nothing we also give him probiotics…. Just looking for new suggestions or if anyone can relate .. i feel so bad for my little guy

I have a dog with bad allergies too. You are on the right track with switching up the food, but how long did you keep him/her on each diet before you decided to switch? It takes a while to clear out the system, but first, what is it he is allergic to? You can get this dog tested for what specifically it is allergic to and then you should be good to go.

There are many types of foods for allergies. But you really need to figure out what the dog is allergic too. Corn, Wheat, chicken, beef, lamb, or preservatives in the food. If you change foods you really need to let the dog adjust to the new diet for awhile. (two or three weeks minimum) Lamb and rice formulas were created to help dogs with chicken and beef allergies. There are so many non grain formulas out there for pets with grain or corn allergies.
I know of many people that will only feed their dogs raw meat. It is costly and the dogs miss out on the other nutrients they need. Dogs are not carnivores like cats. Does your pet spend most of it’s time indoors? Are there any signs of mites in or around the rash? If you are interested I have samples of Nutriwise dog food by Multi Menu. It is a grain free dog food and is our newest formula.
