Fernie Youth Soccer Association represents over 400 youth soccer players and has been organizing spring soccer for Fernie’s youth for many decades. We are working hard to achieve our mandate of providing affordable soccer accessible to all youth, improve soccer skills and help develop soccer facilities in our community. We have recently expanded to include year round soccer, development teams, a website and online registration. Our planned and current programming requirements are beyond what volunteers can support.
Fernie Youth Soccer Association is looking for a qualified, organised and passionate Administrative Assistant to join our team.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be highly organised, with excellent time management and communication skills.
Strong computer skills and a proven ability to write successful grant applications for non-profit organizations are also required. Experience in volunteer management and registration is an asset.Terms of Contract
Contract to be negotiated with successful individual, but the proposed parameters for the position are:
– 6 month contract to begin with the potential for extension pending funding
– Wage determined based on experience and qualifications
– Approximately 40hrs/month, with varying workload according to time of year and required tasks
(i.e. spring registration will be the highest volume of work while winter months will be primarily grant writing )Scope of work:
Reporting to the FYSA Treasurer, there are 3 main components of our organization that the successful candidate will support. Please Note: some tasks are limited in their time and scope according to season and external deadlines.
1. Administration
– Responsible for email box, marketing and advertising
– Provide up to date content for website
– Responsible for clerical duties when needed by FYSA Board
2. Registration
– Work with online registration service provider to tailor registration needs
– Manual entries from registration
– User support for parents and volunteers during online registration
– Updating of the manual registration form
3. Grant Writing
– Responsible for finding and applying for grants, minimum of 3 grants submittedJob Applications

Please note that this is a part-time position with no guarantee of further employment at the end of the contract term. Extension of the contract is a possibility, but will be dependent on the ability of the individual to identify and secure further funding. Terms of Contract as outlined above is subject to change.
