With a cellar full of new wines and a renewed enthusiasm for the beloved grape, the Old Elevator is excitedly gearing up for its participation in the 2004 Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards program.

We just submitted our application yesterday and are excitedly awaiting a response from Wine Spectator,” indicates Scott Gilmet, Marketing Director for the Old Elevator. “Since receiving the award last year, the support from customers for our wine program has been fantastic. This vote of confidence has allowed us to increase our list significantly over the past year including several excellent Bordeaux 2000 vintages as well as a great selection of interesting estate wines from here in British Columbia.”

The Award of Excellence, which the Old Elevator received in 2003, is awarded to restaurants that display commitment to a fine wine list, with a sufficient selection of better producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. There are now 176 restaurants in Canada which received Wine Spectator Awards in 2003. Amongst them, the Old Elevator is only one of four restaurants in the BC interior to receive this prestigious award.
