Dreaming of a weekend jaunt to your dream powder vacation? Vancouverites and other West Coasters are now able to take advantage of daily flights to Cranbrook, BC – meaning a weekend in Fernie is just a short flight away.

Pacific Coastal Airlines began operating flights into the Cranbrook, BC airport this fall. This access to Cranbrook means that visitors can reach Fernie within an hour’s drive of touching down, and it also brings added benefits for Fernie residents who are looking to travel to the coast.

Pacific Coastal Airlines will be offering several daily flights to Vancouver and is currently exploring other complimentary routes,” stated Phillip Elchitz, Managing Director of the Cranbrook Airport, in a release. “The service will be year-round.”

The new service offers two daily Beech 1900 flights to Vancouver at competitive pricing, and is designed to help ensure a practical schedule for both business and leisure travelers.

“We know that annually, over 40,000 people from the Cranbrook area drive to Calgary and fly out of that airport to Vancouver,” added Elchitz. “Our strategy is to help stimulate the market and convince our customers that it is once again affordable to book their flights from Cranbrook.”

For over 25 years, Pacific Coastal Airlines has successfully expanded in the coastal region of British Columbia and continue to look for new ways to improve their products and service. The airline employs over 300 staff and operates from a total of eight bases with a fleet of 19 aircraft.

“We are committed to being the best choice in air carriers to Western BC destinations,” says Daryl Smith, CEO.
