Fernie’s new public washrooms are open! The new public washrooms in Station Square have been on agendas for at least a decade and have finally been constructed. All businesses and washroom users in Fernie’s Historic Downtown are very pleased.
Station Square was created as an outdoor community centre and event venue as part of the Fernie Centennial initiative in the late 90’s. The lake Heiko Socher was the driving lead on this initiative as he was on so many other Fernie community improvement initiatives.
It’s so positive to see the community moving forward with public services and amenities. A thank you to the City of Fernie on this great addition to the downtown. The washrooms are definitely the nicest new building in the downtown.
