The Andrew Osbourne fundraiser has been launched to support the family of the 39-year-old Hosmer resident who tragically lost his life during a night shift at Elkview Operations on November 19, 2025.

Andrew left for work on Wednesday night like he always did—hugging his wife and children, stopping in at his parents’ home for a slice of cheesecake, and then heading to the mine. It was a routine shift, and no one imagined it would be the last time they’d speak with him. During the night, an incident occurred, and Andrew lost his life while simply trying to provide for his family.

In the days since the tragedy, friends, neighbours, coworkers, and strangers across the Elk Valley have reached out asking how they can help. In response, Andrew’s loved ones have created a fundraiser to give the community a way to support his family through an unimaginably difficult time.

The goal is to ensure that Sam, Abbi, Domonic, Sierra, Zac, and Emery have the space and stability to grieve without facing overwhelming financial pressure or uncertainty. Donations will help the family navigate the coming months as they cope with the loss of a husband, father, son, and friend.

Organizers say they are deeply grateful for every contribution, no matter the size:

“There are no words to convey how thankful we are for any financial help we can generate for this family.”

The fundraiser is now live, and the Elk Valley community is once again showing its strength, compassion, and solidarity.
