Tim and Di Warren, Elk Valley residents for 13 years, have passion for life that is unsurpassed by many and following their dreams is something that the pair are not scared to do.
Tim, a City banker, and Di, a chef, both arrived in Fernie and originally worked as a liftees. Tim pursued his ambition of becoming a Paramedic, Pro-Patroller and Avalanche Rescue Dog handler, succeeding with them all.
Di, worked at Fernie Alpine Resort and Island Lake Lodge as well as undertaking the mammoth task of becoming a Sommelier and Instructor with the International Sommelier Guild.
Both well travelled and with a vast selection of world experiences, Tim and Di have once again followed their dreams and, this time, relocated to France where they own and operate a Bed and Breakfast in the beautiful mountains of the Pyrenees.
The reason for the change is simple:
For Tim, to be able to cycle the World Class routes of the Tour de France that are right outside the front door.
For Di, to have unlimited access to some of the world’s best wine and food.
Chez Passet Chambres D’hotes is a historic 18th Century Maison de Maitre (Masters House) located in the quaint village of Lezignan, 3 km east of Lourdes in the foothills of the Hautes Pyrenees Mountains in Southwest France.
With 5 beautiful en-suite guest-rooms, Chez Passet allows Tim and Di to, once again, follow their dreams of Cycling and Wine by offering their guests specialized packages.
Tim offers guided and unguided Cycle Packages for all levels of cyclists affording everyone the chance to ride the famous Cols and Routes of the Tour.
A close proximity to the wine regions of Bordeaux, Rioja (Spain), Cahors, Madiran and Languedoc allows Di to continue her role of instructor and tour guide by offering Wine Packages and Wine Tours to all levels of enthusiasts.
An added bonus are the Pyrenean ski resorts of Cauterets, La Mongie/Bareges, St. Lary and Luz Ardiden which are less than 45 min away. It is not uncommon in the winter to ski in the morning, ride in the afternoon and drink wine by the fire in the evening!
When the skiing, cycling and winery visits are finished for the day, dinner cooked by Di, can be enjoyed in the majestic dining room with roaring fireplace or outside under the flourishing kiwifruit vine, sipping the local wares and enjoying the view.
To say that Chez Passet offers lifestyle, indulgence and relaxation would be to summarize Tim and Di’s outlook on life. It doesn’t get much better than that!
