The Fernie Chamber of Commerce has announced that the 2025 Fernie Business Excellence Awards will celebrate the theme “Rooted Resilience: Growing Stronger Together.”
This year’s theme honours the strength and growth that stem from deep community connections. The awards will recognize the grit, achievements, and meaningful contributions of individuals, businesses, and organizations that make Fernie more powerful, more connected, and more grounded.
Executive Director Wendy McDougall emphasized the Chamber’s appreciation for local contributions. “We acknowledge that local businesses, entrepreneurs, and community groups dedicate their time to growing their businesses, creating jobs, innovating, building community, and making Fernie an excellent place to work, live, and play. The Business Excellence Awards are our chance to celebrate that dedication and recognize those who go above and beyond,” she said.
Nominations Open Until August 24
Nominations are now open and will be accepted until August 24, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Residents are encouraged to nominate businesses, entrepreneurs, and community groups who exemplify excellence in their field and contribute to making Fernie an exceptional place to work, live, and play.

Selection Process:
Following the nomination period, all nominees will be contacted by the Fernie Chamber to complete a Nominee Form. The information provided will be reviewed by an independent judging panel to determine finalists and winners in each category.
