
Mine rescue teams from Elk Valley Resources (EVR) achieved outstanding results at the 67th Annual B.C. Provincial Mine Rescue and First Aid Competition, held June 6–7 at the Britannia Mine Museum. The prestigious event brought together 16 teams from across British Columbia to test their emergency response skills in high-pressure simulated conditions, including firefighting, first aid, and rope rescue.

EVR teams secured first place in both the Surface Mine Rescue and Three-Person First Aid categories, and a second-place finish in the latter—demonstrating excellence across the board.

Surface Mine Rescue – First Place – Line Creek Operations

Mine rescue team members are trained to serve as paramedics, firefighters, and technical rescue specialists. Their ongoing training and competition participation help sharpen life-saving skills essential to safety at EVR’s operations.
