Alpine Canada Alpin unveiled a new look website today, as the governing body for ski racing in Canada focuses on boosting momentum and excitement beyond the 2010 Olympic season.

ACA President Gary Allan said the modernized www.canski.org includes several new features, allowing fans of Canada’s alpine ski teams to follow their favourite athletes and race events like never before.

Visitors to the site will find a more interactive experience, with more video content and new features including a new calendar that provides more information on race events involving Canadians at home and across the globe.

The site will also offer a newsletter allowing supporters to get the latest ski racing news sent directly to their e-mail inbox as well as ever-changing poll questions and a countdown clock marking the seconds to the start of the Bombardier Lake Louise Winterstart.

“One of the most important things that we do at ACA is to generate excitement toward ski racing, and the new website is going to do that in 2010 and beyond,” said Allan.

“We are focused on searching for new and better ways to do things both on and off the race hill, making a commitment to seek greater value for our partners and a better experience for our supporters,” he added.

Allan thanked ACA Webmaster and IT Support Alain Verdier, who led the website project through the summer months.

The website is part of an overall strategy by Alpine Canada Alpin to increase interactivity with ski racing’s supporters. It follows an expansion of ACA’s social networking choices earlier this summer. Follow Canada’s Alpine Ski Teams on Facebook and Twitter.
