The City of Fernie is updating its Official Community Plan (OCP) and creating a Housing Needs Report (HNR) — and this is your chance to help shape the future of our community.
Fernie has changed a lot since the last OCP was adopted in 2014. Our town has grown, housing challenges have intensified, and new pressures and opportunities are emerging. These projects are about more than policy—they’re about how Fernie will evolve as a place to live, work, and play for decades to come.
Housing: What types of homes does Fernie need today and tomorrow? The HNR will use real demographic and economic data to answer this critical question.
Community Vision: The OCP guides decisions on land use, housing, the environment, transportation, recreation, and infrastructure. It sets the direction for how Fernie grows and changes.
Your Priorities: From affordability and jobs to bike lanes, trails, tourism, and sustainability, the OCP is the tool that reflects what matters most to our citizens.
