RDEK Board Chair and Vice Chair

The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Board of Directors has acclaimed Electoral Area C Director Rob Gay and Electoral Area F Director Susan Clovechok to continue as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively, for the coming year.

Rob Gay, now entering his 14th term as Chair, expressed gratitude for the support of his fellow Directors. “Our Board is highly effective, and a big part of that success lies in our collective effort to be collaborative and respectful of differing opinions. This makes for good, well-rounded discussion and decision-making, and I am honoured to serve another year as Chair,” said Gay. Having served on the Board since 2005, Gay is the RDEK’s longest-serving Chair, with November 8 marking his 157th consecutive meeting.

Susan Clovechok was acclaimed as Vice Chair for her fifth term. Reflecting on her role, she noted the value of collaboration and the insights she has gained. “Over the past four years, I have deeply valued the learning opportunities I’ve had, not only as Vice Chair but from my fellow directors, who are strong leaders in their communities,” Clovechok stated. While not directly involved in daily operations, her background in organizational efficiency has enabled her to contribute to the Board’s mission of excellence. She added, “I look forward to serving this region as Vice Chair for another year.”

With the continuity of leadership, the RDEK Board of Directors looks forward to another productive year under the guidance of Gay and Clovechok.
