The Fernie Ghostriders made the top-five teams in the KIJHL Power Rankings and are on top in their division!
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League completed its 18th week of action for the 2023-24 regular season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlights the top-five teams based on their performance over the past 10 games, including winning percentage.
The Ghostriders played their last five games on the road. They won 5-3 in Creston, 4-2 in Columbia Valley and 6-2 in Castlegar. This week they lost in 3-2 in OT in Sicamous then finished up with a 3-2 OT win in Revelstoke.
Captain Taylor Haggerty commented after the Sicamous and Revelstoke games, “I thought 3/4 points on that road trip was a very good weekend for us. I thought we only played two periods of good hockey the whole weekend and we managed to come away with 3 points. That shows lots about our group. Those are two very good teams who we played and I think we are happy with 3/4 points and we didn’t even play our best hockey.”
This great play also keeps the Riders on top in their division and clinches a playoff spot!
The Riders will be home for two games on January 26 and 27th, see all their home games here.
Go Riders go!
