Fernie Ski Clubs are vying to be Canada’s most invested ski community in the 2023 Mackenzie Top Peak challenge.

With this year’s grand prize being $100,000 and with a community theme, Fernie Alpine Ski Team (FAST) couldn’t resist but to join forces with fellow Fernie ski clubs, The Fernie Freestyle and Snowboard Club and the Fernie Nordic Society, and go for the prize! Together Fernie is a stronger force and stand an excellent chance to win however, they do need your support!

Here’s how it’s going to work this year:

Rally – earn points through nominations and challenges

Voting – If Fernie makes it to Top 10, Canadians will be voting on who makes Top 3

Judging – Once the Top 3 are selected, a panel of judges will be selecting the winner. 70% of each team’s score will be based on the peak’s submission story, video, initiative and rallying. 30% will be based on points earned during the nomination and rally phase.

FAST is hosing a race this weekend and there are lots of opportunities to encourage athletes to partake in some challenges.

The goal is to have fun participating in this contest and show Canada why Fernie deserves to win the grand prize of Top Peak!

Top Peak 2022 saw a thrilling race to the finish with Adanac Ski Hill in Sudbury, Ontario and Kimberley Alpine Resort tying for first place! Each received $50,000 to invest in local community projects. Team Adanac put their funds to help in the construction of a multipurpose ski shack to house equipment, facilitate races and act as a supplemental area for athletes. Team Kimberley upgraded their club’s training equipment to help expand access to future ski programs.

Go Fernie go, lets make this happen!
