The Fernie Museum and Oolichan Books invite you to celebrate the launch of The Rise and Fall of Emilio Picariello with author Adriana Davies.

Through her research for the Museum Exhibit of the same name, Davies approached Picariello’s story as a cold case. While there is little doubt he was a bootlegger, she calls into question the circumstances that lead to Constable Lawson’s death and if Picariello was ultimately responsible. Did his Italian heritage play a role? Was his trial defense adequate? Was there another shooter? Were Picariello and Lassandro wrong- fully convicted? Davies will explore her speculations and conclusions in her presentation at the museum.
