Fernie’s approaching snow season will again be celebrated with the annual Fernie Ski and Board Film Fest and the Fernie Alpine Ski Team (FAST) Ski Swap! Join hundreds of skiers and boarders as they flock to the Community Centre on Saturday, November 7th to enjoy the year’s best ski and board films on a large format screen with professional sound!

This years films include Conquering the Useless, Eversince, and Paradise Waits. See the show previews here.

And to make it a party we’re serving drinks and food featuring Fernie Brewing’s newest brews, Boston Pizza slices, fresh popcorn and soft drinks. Plus we have great prizing and this year’s Film Fest is stacked. Everyone attending will receive a 2 for 1 lift ticket to Castle Mountain and have a chance to win snow vacations, snowcat skiing and boarding, skis, boards, clothing and more.

The event is the season’s sole fundraiser for the Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP). Each winter CSP members provide over 400 days of volunteer patrol services in Fernie and Elkford. These guys and girls are amazing, be sure to come out and support their effort!

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for kids for all three shows and are available at the local sports goods shops, the FAST Ski Swap, and at the door.

The FAST ski swap support’s the ski team with admission proceeds and 20% of sales. The equipment drop is from 6 to 8pm Friday November 6th and the sale is from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.

Without their supporting sponsors this fundraising event would not be possible: Fernie Real Estate, Teck, ScotiaBank Fernie, Fernie Alpine Resort, Boston Pizza, Park Place Lodge, Fernie Brewing, The Free Press, FWA Powder Catskiing, Great Northern Powder Guides, Whitefish Resort, Castle Mountain, and Island Lake Catskiing.
