The Fernie Ski & Board Film Fest is back — and it’s the unofficial launch of winter in Fernie! Join the stoke-fueled crowd at Knox on 2nd on Saturday, November 8th, for an unforgettable night of world-class ski and snowboard films, big prizes, and pure winter hype.

For one night only, skiers and riders will pack the house to celebrate the return of deep snow, big lines, and legendary storytelling on the big screen. This year’s film lineup features two of the most anticipated titles of the season.

The night kicks off with Teton Gravity Research’s Pressure Drop — the 30th annual release from one of the most iconic names in mountain culture. This high-octane film follows a stacked roster of the world’s top freeride athletes, including Jeremy Jones, John Jackson, Maggie Voisin, Cass and Mia Jones, Parkin Costain, Teal Harle, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Nick McNutt, and many more. Their journey spans legendary winter destinations: from the powder fields of Interior British Columbia to the rugged spines of Alaska, the dramatic peaks of Norway’s Lofoten Islands, and the classic freeride zones of Jackson Hole, Grand Targhee, and Palisades Tahoe. It’s a full-throttle celebration of terrain, talent, and the gravity-fed moments we live for.

Then, settle in for Matchstick Productions’ After the Snowfall — a powerful, beautifully shot exploration of the sport’s beating heart. Featuring Michelle Parker, Nico Porteous, Nikolai Schirmer, Caite Zeliff, Mark Abma, Logan Pehota, and more, this film captures skiing’s soul in stunning clarity. Shot across pillow-packed heli zones in British Columbia, the Tordrillo Mountains of Alaska, the Lyngen Alps of Norway, and the deep snows of Japan, After the Snowfall blends jaw-dropping riding with intimate storytelling. It’s about passion, obsession, risk, and the pull of snow that shapes lives and communities.

The feature films will light up a large-format screen with professional image and sound. Fernie’s favourite vendors will keep the vibe rolling with fresh pizza, popcorn, craft beer from Fernie Brewing Co., and more.

All proceeds from the event support the Fernie Volunteer Ski Patrol, whose dedicated team provides over 400 days of volunteer patrol service in Fernie and Elkford each winter.
