 ’s 2026 General Local Election.\n\nHosted by the City of Fernie’s Chie
 f Election Officer and Corporate Officer\, the free session will explain:\
 n\n• Who is eligible to vote\n• How voter registration works\n• What
  identification is required\n• Where and when voting takes place\n• Vo
 ting while away at college\, university or on vacation\n• Advance voting
 \n• Mail ballot options\n\nParticipants will also have an opportunity to
  ask questions about the local election process.\n\nFernie voters will ele
 ct one Mayor\, six Councillors and one School District No. 5 (Southeast Ko
 otenay) Trustee in the 2026 General Local Election.\n\nNew and first-time 
 voters are encouraged to attend\, learn how the process works and be ready
  to cast their ballot.\n
