Park Place Lodge
Mighty Moose Dragathon

It’s time for Fernie to talk about Mental Health! Since January of 2020, the Elk Valley Suicide Task Force have led the conversation about suicide awareness in the valley. They want to break down the stigma, open up conversations, and enforce the message that “It is OK to not be OK.”

Now is your opportunity to support all of that. You can help those in crisis by being a part of the conversation and participating in #Dragathon2022.

The Dragathon will have Fernie’s most fabulous ski and ride Might Moose through the evening of March 11, to raise awareness and funds for the Elk Valley Suicide Task Force.

The event is kicking off late in the afternoon, and will include PUBLIC NIGHT SKIING on the Mighty Moose with music and performances from our Drag Queens and Kings! Afterwards there’s a party in the Griz Bar with a full professional drag show by Edmonton drag queens The Nuff Family, followed by a dance party featuring Austen Brown (Dorothy) and myself (Freebooter) on the decks for those feel-good vibes. When’s the last time you danced in the Griz Bar?!?! We’ve even got shuttles to get you back to town safely!

Check out the link for more info on the times for the day, as well as how to get tickets for the Griz Bar party. And don’t forget… to dress fabulously!

Listen to Darcy Richardson talk about the day his friend took his life and how today just over 2 years later, his message to the people is “just talk about it (suicide). Don’t be afraid of it.”
