Celebrate Fernie’s Festival of Light with a Dance and Performance Workshop just for Children ages 4-11! Generously supported by the Fernie Arts Station!

Join the legendary Heart and Soul Dance Ensemble and Fernie’s very own Unicorn Squad Dance Crew for this one of a kind interactive workshop and performance experience created just for children!

Your child will have a chance to participate in a 2 hour dance and performance workshop with experienced dancers, teachers and choreographers where they will learn the art of dance and have fun with friends old and new. The children will learn a dance that they will have a chance to perform for the community audience on the main stage at the Festival of Light on November 10th. This is a wonderful performance opportunity for young dancers to Let Their Star Shine! There are only 20 spots in this workshop, so be sure to register early and get your dancin’ shoes ready!

Keepsake accessories, glow wands and glow sticks will be provided!

Who:
20 lucky young dancers, ages 4-11 As this is a dance workshop staffed by artists, child care will not be available for younger participants. All children under the age of 7 will need to be accompanied by an adult or parent.

All levels of experience from beginner to more advanced are welcome.

When:
November 9 4:00-6:00
November 10 7:00 pm for the evening performance
Participants MUST be able to commit to both days.

Cost:
$10 per child to confirm registration

About the Heart and Soul Dance Ensemble and the Unicorn Squad: The Unicorn Squad and the Heart and Soul Dance Ensemble are Legacy Dance teams that have entertained audiences from the streets and stages of Fernie to the streets and stages of Disneyland. In 2020 they will hit the bright lights and big city of New York as they perform on Broadway for the first time! The Dancers are trained in everything form ballet to hip hop, modern to musical theatre and everything in between. Well known locally for their engaging, uplifting, and memorable performances, these talented Youth performers ages 14-18, have been making magic since 2009.

Together with their award winning Artistic Director and choreographer Alana Minifie-Rybar, and joined by the talented dance teachers from Sole Beats Studio they’ve created this special children’s dance workshop just for Fernie’s Festival of Lights!
