June is Pride Month!

Pride Month is celebrated every June as a tribute to those who were involved in the Stonewall Riots. The Stonewall Riots served as a catalyst for the gay rights movement around the world.

Fernie Pride is joining the parades, festivals, and concerts going on across the globe, there’s always some way for you to get involved — as well as learn some important social history along the way.

The Fernie Pride Society has painted rainbow crosswalks at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 5th Avenue.

As part of Pride Month, Fernie Pride has also launched a confidential, online diversity and inclusion survey aimed to better understand the experiences of the LGBTQ2+ community in the Elk Valley.
