 or Citizens Drop-In Centre\n562 3rd Avenue\, Fernie\, BC\n\nFernie Municip
 al Election 2026\n\nFernie residents will elect one Mayor and six Councill
 ors for the 2026–2030 term.\n\nMayor Candidates: Kyle Hamilton and Harsh
 an Ramadass.\n\nCouncil Candidates: Alleine Anselmo\, Tracey Audia Kelly\,
  Reto Barrington\, Kathleen Dolan\, Josh Gawryluk\, Phil Iddon\, Taylor Pe
 trucha\, Ted Shoesmith\, Joshua Slykhuis and Scott Tibballs.\n\nSchool Dis
 trict Trustee Election\n\nEligible voters will also elect one School Trust
 ee for Southeast Kootenay School District No. 5.\n\nSchool Trustee Candida
 tes: Nicole Heckendorf and Joe Warshawsky.\n\nThe School Trustee voting ar
 ea includes both the City of Fernie and Trustee Electoral Area 1 of RDEK E
 lectoral Area A. This voting area differs from the municipal election boun
 daries.\n\nVoter Registration and Identification\n\nThere is no need to re
 gister in advance. Eligible voters can register at the voting location.\n\
 nVoters must bring two pieces of identification\, at least one containing 
 a signature. Photo identification is not required.\n\nTo vote as a residen
 t elector\, you must be a Canadian citizen\, at least 18 years old on Octo
 ber 17\, 2026\, have lived in British Columbia for at least six months and
  meet the applicable residency and eligibility requirements.\n\nMail Ballo
 t Voting\n\nMail ballot packages must be requested before 4:00 p.m. on Thu
 rsday\, October 15\, 2026.\n\nCompleted mail ballots must be received by t
 he Chief Election Officer no later than 8:00 p.m. on Saturday\, October 17
