The Chamber will present financials, elect directors, and provide a report on 2017 activities. Over the past year, Chamber membership has grown 6% and welcomed 33 new members. “We are excited by our steady growth. Our board has focused on supporting business through relevant education sessions and advocacy,” states board president Graeme Nunn. “Our AGM speaker is another way we are listening to the membership. Fernie businesses want to know how the BC and AB economies are doing so we are bringing in an expert to speak on the topic”.

Chamber executive director Patty Vadnais says “it has been a successful year for the Chamber. From running another year of the Fernie Ambassador Program, to a coworking feasibility report, to getting our first policy passed at the BC Chamber, the Fernie Chamber has been working for its members. We are supporting business growth and supporting community growth. Both allowing our local economy to thrive”. The annual general meeting is an opportunity for members and the community to come hear directly from the Chamber the activities that are strengthening commerce in Fernie.
