Joel Burgess MVP and Most Exciting

Joel was a force on the ice for us this year leading the team in goal scoring. He showed tones of confidence coming off his rookie year scoring some of the most exciting goals I’ll ever see. He played a big role for us on the penalty kill leading the team in short handed goals. Joel’s strong skating and his unbelievable puck control along the boards is a huge reason why he had so much success. Great choice for MVP and his exciting play awarded him the most exciting player award.

Kale Johnston Most Improved

Kale is our most improved player this year. Johnston really had to find his way on the team through training camp and when he did he took full advantage of his opportunities.
Kale’s work ethic and willingness to get better allowed him to improve a ton and become one of our top goal scorers. Kale is true definition of heart and will.

Josh Teves Top defenseman and Rookie of the Year
Josh was voted rookie of the year and top D-man. Josh lead the D in scoring and was our most consistent player this year playing in 50 games logging almost 30mins a game. Never did he look tired or out of place. His determination and unbelievable smooth skating and puck handling allowed him to be one of the most exciting d-men in the league.
Josh is finishing the year off with Merrit of BCHL during their playoff run. I expect to see him playing JrA full time next season.
Good luck the rest of the way Josh.

Cole Weber, Most inspirational
Weber is our most inspirational player this year. Cole was a house for us this year playing through multiple injuries and never wanting a shift off. Playing with a broken foot since early December Cole was still called on to shut down some of the best players in the league.
His physical play around the puck allowed our players have more ice out there. Cole does it for the guy next to him.
It was an honor to have coached such a warrior.

Aaron Neufeld Top Scorer
With no surprise to me Aaron was our leading scorer this season. After a rookie season that had him playing limited time Neuf came back on a mission. I told Duner at training camp that Neuf could lead our team in scoring this year. With his unique puck skill and the ability to find his teammates Aaron proved me right. Look at the top of the leading scorers next season because I’m sure you’ll see Neufeld up there all year.

Dylan Robertson Playoff MVP
Playoffs is where you put your heart on your sleeve and do whatever it takes to help your team win. Robo was a dominant player for us in the playoffs and is this year’s winner of the Playoff MVP. Robo strikes fear in the eyes of opponents when he’s on ice. With his big hits and breakaway speed Roby makes room out there for everybody. Even though he lead the team in points it’s his play without the puck that impressed me as Roby is one of our top penalty killers and plays against the other teams top lines. This kid has captain written all over him.
