It has been a week now since multiple avalanche fatalities occurred in Western Canada involving many of the same weak snowpack layers that are present in our forecast region. Although, we have seen avalanche activity tapering off, and a general improvement in conditions, it’s taken a fair amount of self-discipline to avoid jumping into aggressive terrain because there are still avalanche problems to be concerned about.
