The Annual 2013 Fernie Community & Business Excellence Awards, and Elk Valley Residential Housing Awards enjoyed a record turnout and a flawless execution. The Fernie Golf and Country Clubhouse Restaurant provided the perfect venue where guests were greeted with a glass of bubbly, live music with a string quartet, and a very fine meal.

Todd Fyfe, Fernie Chamber President, keep the speeches short and the evening quickly moved into what we were there for, the winners. Congratulations!!!

It was a wonderful evening filled with positive energy. We’re glad there were so many people out celebrating each others successes.

Following the awards we were entertained by a young man, Colin Angus, who was the first person to circumnavigate the world by human power: that means walking and biking in Siberia, rowing across the Atlantic, always in the face of danger relying solely on his own wits, intelligence and strength, amazing to meet such a person. His humble character made for a most entertaining presentation!
