Well it is definitely winter in the Elk Valley again. Kevin skied freshies all week and the weekenders like myself ended up with soft pack bumps and crud.

Yes, it’s finally looking like Fernie on the hills these days. It’s been snowing off and on again for several days and the conditions are fantastic.

This morning I was up early and raring to hit the hill. I’d watched the flakes falling late yesterday and knew there'd be more freshies today.

School breaks have lengthened the line-ups somewhat this week, but the sun and snow today were more than enough to turn the deepest frown upside down.

It was back to Fernie on Sunday and after talking to Alain at the Ski Base, I got sorta motivated to take out the ole carving board and rip up the groomers in the early morning.

A quest for untracked powder went unsatisfied today, but that didn’t prevent Hugh, Marie and I from trying.

Well the sun has made a grand appearance in the Elk Valley and is forecast to stay here for at least the next five days.
