Clear blue skies greeted skiers and snowboarders this weekend. Once the clouds burned off early on Saturday, there wasn't a cloud to be seen all weekend. Temperatures were brisk to start off with but quickly warmed up to be near spring like by lunch time.

My cousin Gord and his son Graham came in this weekend looking for powder but got hardpack conditions and some really weird wind pack up higher. I was expecting it to be a bit softer than it was given the snowfall this week but I guess the warm temps were just a wee bit on the warm side.

Still, it was fun ripping around with them as I usually see them on big ole downhill mountain bikes in the summer. Just be careful if you are using cousin's sons as photo models. They have a tendency to running into you after you snap the shot. Good thing my flesh cushioned the blow of a snowboard edge to my ulna and radius. Perhaps I should invest in a telephoto lens and stand farther back.

It is hard to believe that we are slipping into the last week of February already. Spring is just around the corner and while I welcome its arrival, it would sure be nice to get a few more powdery days in before the final melt arrives. Doesn't look like that is going to happen this week though with clouds and mild temps continuing.
