This week just keeps getting better. Since we have visitors from Ottawa here for a while, Ive been at the hill almost every day in the past week and its been getting progressively better and better. About 25cm in the past 24 hours doesnt hurt either.
The ski hill has been very busy this week, and for mid-week, today was fairly high traffic. A late start meant the line up was fairly long when we got to the Timber Chair but that was about all the downside I can think of for the morning. Our first run down Heartland off the White Pass Chair in the Timber Bowl was pure poetry, lots of new snow and while it was pretty busy, there was more than enough to go round. The glades were amazing, though the snow was heavy and fairly slow so snowboarders, my advice is to not stop or slow down (yes, I got stuck) where it flattens out mid-bowl.
Currie was fairly busy as well this morning but Currie Powder and Currie Glades were awesome. Siberia Ridge was in excellent shape as well, with great coverage on the top where it can be icy at times.
The snow was getting heavier as the morning wore on and things warmed up. On the groomers and straightaways mid-mountain, heavy wet snow meant there were some serious bumps in spots; flat light and fog as well, so a bit of caution there. However, the coverage is excellent in all spots, and the forecast is looking good for more precipitation.
