Well after what was a pretty dry January it finally dumped on us and there were plenty of smiles to go around. It seemed like about 20 cm fell for Saturday ( I love it when it snows for the weekends) and then possibly another 20 on Sunday. Sunday's snow was a lot drier than Saturday's but given the icy conditions underneath it was probably good that we had a bit of moist before the dry. Saturday also had a nasty freezing rain like precipitation going on. You had to scrape your goggles every few minutes and considering how foggy it was, every bit of visibility helped.

Yeah, Sunday was quite as surprise as it only snowed a few centimeters in town so I wasn't really expecting very much. My first run into Cedar bowl was quite enjoyable with snow billowing around my knees and thighs. The sun also made a rare appearance in the morning for a few runs taking a little bit of the sting out of the air. Yup, it got cold overnight. Maybe I have acclimatized to the balmy January we had but it sure felt cold out today.

What I saw of the world cup freestyle event looked like it was running fairly smoothly with good conditions for the competitors. I didn't really see much of it mind you. Too much good snow around to hang around watching other people ski.

It is looking like a promising forecast this week with snow all through the week. Fingers crossed on that one.
