A new job has seriously cut into my ski recreating time; much to my chagrin, as the last couple of weeks have seen some of the best skiing of the year. Angie and I went up on Wednesday to catch some of the soft spring conditions. The hill has grown quieter as the winter-only skiers have gone. Which was great for us as some of the best skiing is definitely to be found when the days are warmer, the snow softer and the outside decks are sunlit and open longer for après ski beverages.

Conditions are variable right now and you have to pick your time of day to ski. Sometimes it’s best first thing in the morning, sometimes in the middle of the day, but definitely the best skiing is in the sun. Try Sunnyside gulley and Sun Up or Concussion Chutes for some more consistent skiing.

Quote of the day:

“Going from sun to shade to sun is challenging.”
