A quick teaser flurry fell Saturday afternoon but quickly broke back into sunshine in the cool temperatures. I decided to just go for a cross country skate instead and was very pleased to find the trails very well groomed and fast. I figure if I am going to go out in the freezing temperatures I might as well partake in an activity that is going to keep my core temperature way up there.

Sunday was a different story with the temperatures warming way up and snow falling for the most part of the day. It never really amounted to too terrible an amount (by Fernie standards) but still took an edge off the hard pack. The mountain was dead and you could almost ski right onto the lift on both the Boomerang and Bear Chairs.
Skied with some friends from Calgary, Kobe and Al for a while and we managed to dig around and find some good snow in the trees in Cedar Bowl. Kobe was having a rough day. It was probably the last day he is going to ski this year because he is off on a climbing and surfing trip to Thailand and Australia for three months. I had a hard time feeling sorry for him, even when he somehow managed to bend one of his new Bandit XX skis. Actually I felt kind of sorry for him then, as he is a pretty smooth skier and didnt seem to be skiing that hard on them.
Temps are supposed to cool off again as the week progresses with the sun once again making a bit of showing. Still snowing as I write this on Sunday evening.
