I am just really happy right now. What a great day it was today. A bit of sun, some fresh powder and some fun people to ski with. The rain from the past few days did an amazing job of solidifying the rocks to the ground and today there were very few rocky hazards to deal with. If horror stories of crappy conditions were keeping you away then you will be happy to know that I think the crappy conditions are over.

Not that they have been that bad mind you. I have been having a hoot on the days that I have gone up. You just had to pick and choose is all. Wet days are good days to let the old legs relax. Yeah.
I didnt bother going to the old side today and just skied the new side. Dont do that very often but it is actually kind of fun over there. Good snow all around the top, as I mentioned and they even opened Currie bowl for the first time in a long time (apparently it was open a few days ago at 3:00 pm but who was around for that?).
After skiing the morning I went for a cross country skate ski in the afternoon. Conditions on the XC trails are kind of weird in spots and really good in others. The lower half of the back loop looks like a moose got stuck under the groomer because it is just really rutty. Probably due to shallow soil depths, and lots of turns on a narrow trail but I have more fun imaging the moose scenario.
Weather is supposed to cool down slightly with not much for precip in the next 5 days but who trusts the weather man anyways.
Pictures are of Jens Mendes and were mostly taken in the top end of timber bowl.
