Celebrate the start of winter at the 4th Fernie Lantern Festival by The Arts Station. Watch for lantern building workshops through October and November. The event will be a stunning blend of art, music and light shining through the snowy night in historic downtown Fernie.

The theme for this year’s event is “Into the Woods”, you are invited to the Enchanted Forest.

The Lantern Festival is a fantastic way to welcome winter with the glow of creativity and is an event that has something for everyone from grommets to grandparents.

Come out and build your own lantern to light your way in the parade with the rest of us! Ideas, guidance and supplies provided for free. You just need to bring your enthusiasm. All builds take place in the The Arts Station.

This year we are taking on Into The Woods as our theme. It’s going to be a magical journey of woodland creatures, fairies and a few surprises. You can make a lantern based on this theme or not. It’s all up to you!
