Friday, January 15th, 2010

Nick Morris, an ACMG guide and third generation Fernie local, recently started Snow Valley Guiding to offer guided ski touring, avalanche skills training, backcountry trips, and custom trips for individuals or groups.

Nick grew up in Fernie British Columbia and spent his childhood skiing, touring and hiking the local area with family and friends. At an early age his parents instilled in him a love and respect for the mountains. In his younger days he pushed the limits of skiing in Fernie and beyond, however as a family man with two young daughters, Nick has matured to become a professional guide.

In December 2009 he started Snow Valley Guiding to offer guided ski touring, avalanche skills training, backcountry trips, and custom trips for individuals and groups. He is offering a much needed service to those who want to learn and have fun while exploring the backcountry. Whether it is day tripping in Fernie‘s backcountry, planning a few days at Thunder Meadows Hut, or learning the basics of safe backcountry travel with an AST course–Nick can make your adventure safe and fun.
