A new year and a new beer. A hybrid beer, full of malts and flavour. Fernie Brewing Co.’s latest release is an India Brown Ale. Hot Saw India Brown Ale, hitting shelves tomorrow.

FBC Hot Saw IBA

“It has a strong malt backbone providing caramel, chocolate, and nutty flavours. Using our hop back and dry hopping methods provides a pleasant and pleasing hop flavour and aroma. And a great variety of malts, a unique avalanche of flavour,” says Brewmaster Gord Demaniuk.

It’s as strong on the outside as it is on the inside. Following in suit of Fernie Brewing Co.’s recent packaging revamp, the Hot Saw 650ml bottle is suitably clad in hoppy green and rich brown, adorned with a burly, plaid wearing lumberjack. With beard, toque, chainsaw and three perfectly cut cookies, of course.

“When you pour a glass of Hot Saw, you will be rewarded with a rich foam head, coupled with hop flavours and aromas, derived mainly from Williamette, Ahtanum and Chinook hop varieties,” says Demaniuk.

A Limited Release brew, Hot Saw will be available January to March, available through both Government and Private Stores in BC as of tomorrow, and throughout Alberta early next week. It’s also available on tap at specific locations, in both Provinces.

Closer to home in the FBC Store and Tasting Room, Hot Saw is currently on tap for Growlers and samples and the fridge is freshly stocked.

Fernie Brewing Co.’s next release will be the return of Snowblind Belgian IPA, number two, of the four-part “IPA Bucket List”, launched over the course of a year. Limited Release Snowblind will be available early February in BC, Alberta and Manitoba.

Fernie Brewing Co. is open 7 days a week 10AM-6PM. Tours Friday’s at 3PM.
