The solar powered roaming sushi truck Yama2Go has been a distinct feature to our streets this summer. The menu features numerous classic sushi items such as California Rolls, Pepper Seared Tuna Rolls and Ahi Poke Sliders. Entrees include a Seared Tuna Bowl and a Korean BBQ Beef/ Tofu Bowl. The truck’s absence as of late around town is due to its summer festival tour. Last week, Yama2Go was a hit at the Calgary Folk Music Festival, with customers lined-up throughout the day.

This year was the 35th annual Calgary Folk Fest, which brought in over 50,000 attendees. The festival has successfully evolved into a popular cultural event which features an array of the best and most diverse food trucks in the area.

Yama2Go will continue its festival tour at the Canmore Folk Music Festival this weekend (August 2 – 4) and the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival (August 15 – 17). It will return home inbetween, of course, for the Wapiti Music Festival on August 10th and 11th. The truck can also be found in town Thursday – Sunday from noon – 8pm and at the Summer Socials on Wednesday Evenings and Sundays from 11am – 4pm.
